Comedian Sinbad comes to the Mullins Center this
Saturday night, Dec. 16. Opening for Sinbad will be
UMass student Jacob Abernethy.
Sinbad, who claims he never tells jokes because
he, “Doesn’t know any,” plans to bring a mix of old
school comedy and a new age look to Amherst. He made
his film debut in the 1991 football film, Necessary
Roughness, and since then has appeared in Houseguest,
First Kid and Homeward Bound II. He also starred and
produced his own television show called, “The Sinbad
Show.”
Sinbad won the NAACP Image Award two years in a
row in the “Most Outstanding Variety Series/Special”
category for his HBO special, “Simbad’s Summer Jam.”
Jake Abernathe has been juggling since he was
fourteen years old. He made extra cash juggling in the
streets of Boston, until he enrolled in the Faneuil
Hall Street Performer’s program. He recently won the
Comedy Bake Off at the Fine Arts Center and was named
the University’s funniest student.
Tickets for Sinbad and Jacob Abernethy at the
Mullins Center are $25.00 and $30.00 and can be
purchased at the Mullins Center box office or online
at www.ticketmaster.com.
