After throwing an interception and losing a fumble in the first half after injuring his ankle, quarterback Kyle Havens was replaced by Scott Woodward for the second straight week as UMass fell 19-9 in Maine.

Minutemen play home-and-home with Hockey East Friars

Off to its best start since 1995, UMass looks to stay undefeated as they travel to Providence Friday and then hsot the Friars in Amherst on Halloween. Friday’s game will be the first road test for UMass on the young season.

With Paul Dainton leading UMass to a perfect 3-0 record and Providence’s Alex Beaudry holding the top goals-against average and save percentage in the Hockey East, the two will be the difference makers in the two schools two weekend matchups.

Khanna’s complaint narrowly passes SGA vote

Instead of Midnight Madness, Kellogg introduces Super Sunday

The Massachusetts men’s basketball team won’t host a Midnight Madness this year because UMass coach Derek Kellogg doesn’t feel his team is ready for the showcasing. Instead, the Minutemen will hold an open practice while still involving fans and having a dunk contest on Super Sunday on Nov. 1.

UMass put in must-win situation

In order to reach the Atlantic 10 Tournament, the Massachusetts women’s soccer team will need to win its last two games this season. Though the Minutewomen would need a host of scenarios to play out, they can greatly improve their chances of making postseason play by defeating both George Washington and Richmond this weeked.

‘Repo: the Genetic Opera’ to show in Northampton
