The Amherst Police Department announced on Tuesday the arrest of Belchertown resident Jayson Stinson following an alleged altercation in the Townhouse Apartments on Sunday, Oct. 25. According to a press release distributed by the Amherst Police yesterday, officers responded to a home invasion at 39 Townhouse Apartments at 3:58 p.m. Sunday, and found evidence that 26-year-old suspect Stinson had entered the apartment of a Townhouse resident and his girlfriend, and threatened the two 20-year-olds with a knife later recovered by police.

Coming in ranked No. 17, Magdalena Ploch advanced to the fifth round of the ITA Regional Championships over this past weekend, upsetting the No. 3 seed. UMass doubles team of Candynce Boney and Maude Lecluyse did not find the same success, getting bounced after a first-round bye.

UMass hopes to find some offensive rhythm against Dartmouth as they prepare for the final weekend of conference play. Because of the Minutewomen’s struggles at the beginning of the A-10 schedule, they have put themselves in a must-win scenario with its final two games this weekend if they want to make the conference tournament.
