82 UMass buildings added to Mass. historic asset inventory

82 new University of Massachusetts buildings have been added to Massachusetts’ “Inventory of Archaeological and Historic Assets of the Commonwealth” list – raising the total number of UMass buildings on this list to 105.

Free H1N1 vaccination clinics to be held in Amherst this week

University Health Services and the town of Amherst will be hosting free walk-in H1N1 flu vaccination clinics beginning this week. The first clinic will take place Wednesday, Dec. 2, from noon until 6 p.m. at the University of Massachusetts Campus Center Auditorium. A second clinic will follow on Saturday, Dec. 12 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bangs Community Center, located at 70 Boltwood Walk, Amherst.

Amherst Police receive $17,000 grant

Amherst Police Chief Scott P. Livingstone announced on Tuesday, Nov. 24 that the Amherst Police Department has been named the recipient of a $17,000 grant from the federal Executive Office of Public Safety and Security’s Highway Safety Division.
