The American Red Cross Pioneer Valley Chapter is now accepting nominations for the Hometown Heroes honor, its largest annual fundraising event, in which all funds support the chapter in serving the community. Last year’s event raised $42,000.

Despite Ricky Harris scoring a season-low 10 points, UMass relied on its other shooters to help out in its victory over Saint Francis. Junior Anthony Gurley scored a game-high 18 points off the bench on 5-of-9 shooting.

After years of fundraising lagging behind the alumni networks of its peer institutions, the University of Massachusetts Alumni Association is now considering different ways to attract members to the Alumni Association. One of the plans currently being discussed is lowering the annual dues required for membership to the association.
