UMass topple Terriers, on to Legends Classic Championships

A course expedition will take 16 students to the jungles of the Peruvian Amazon

Chris Kilham, a University of Massachusetts ethnobotanist who has spent the past dozen years venturing back and forth from South America, studying Amazonian rainforests and their medicinal plants, altered his one-credit UMass course known as “The Shaman’s Pharmacy,” to bring students with him to the Amazon.

UMass Budget Planning Task Force sets out to advise administration

Barring another injection of federal stimulus money, the University of Massachusetts will itself be facing down a large budget cliff in the coming months and years. In the meantime, Chancellor Robert Holub has retained the Budget Planning Task Force (BPTF) that was brought together last year, and rekindled its efforts in advising the UMass administration.

Kellogg sees signs of maturity from freshmen

While the Massachusetts basketball team will have its ups and downs due to its inexperience this season, UMass coach Derek Kellogg hopes that his young players will mature quickly. Through three games already, players like Terrell Vinson and Freddie Riley have grown and shown a lot of development.
