East Pleasant St. crash results in OUI arrest

The Amherst Police Department announced Wednesday that an early morning crash at the intersection of Grantwood Dr. and East Pleasant St. had resulted in the second OUI arrest for a 26-year-old Holyoke woman, among other charges.

MFA students’ “Shameless Self-Promotion” on view at the University Gallery

“Shameless Self Promotion” is currently on view at the University Gallery in the Fine Arts Center. It consists of artworks of Polaroid dimensions by UMass MFA students in response to Andy Warhol’s exhibit “The Minox and The Big Shot: Andy Warhol’s Photography.” The exhibit is described as an opportunity for MFA students to engage in artistic dialogue with Warhol’s art.

No holiday cheer, but “Everybody’s Fine” here

Kirk Jones and company definitely did something right when they made this season’s newest family film, “Everybody’s Fine.” The director, known for “Nanny McPhee,” adapted his new film from 1990’s Italian flick “Stanno Tutti Bene” by Giuseppe Tornatore. The biggest difference, disregarding the obvious language disparity, is the all-star cast Jones has put together.

After winning the Brown Classic, the Minutewomen snapped a two-game winning streak against the UVM Wednesday night, dropping its fifth game of the year. Jasmine Watson scored 14 points and added nine rebounds in the loss.
