Minutemen lose to undefeated Seton Hall

The Massachusetts basketball team was unable to string together another victory after the win Saturday as it fell to Seton Hall, 86-68. The Minutemen attempted to make a comeback against the Pirates, who remain undefeated this season, but the 35-point deficit was too much of a climb.

UMass teams drop meets against Yale and Northeastern

For the first time this season, the Massachusetts swim teams traveled to different locations. The men competed against Yale while the women took on Northeastern as both teams dropped their meets after impressive showings at Boston University’s Terrier Invitational.

49ers upset Louisville out of national rankings

The Charlotte men’s basketball team earned an upset win against Louisville on Saturday, defeating the Cardinals, 87-65. The loss for the Cardinals was their worst at Freedom Hall in the last nine years and was the widest margin in Rick Pitino’s career at Louisville.

Bonnies down pre-season favorite Marist

Senior Dana Mitchell collected her seventh career double-double for the St. Bonaventure women’s basketball team as it defeated Marist, 61-43, on Sunday. In a cross-town rivalry, Richmond topped Virginia Commonwealth University, 66-52, for its seventh win of the season.

UMass defeats Coast Guard and falls to rival UConn

In celebrating Military Appreciation night this past weekend against Coast Guard, the Massachusetts men’s club hockey team defeated the Bears, 10-3. In their next game against NECHA American West division rival Connecticut, the Minutemen fell, 6-5, in a closely-contested match.

Minutewomen swept by Huskies

In back-to-back games against Northeastern, the Massachusetts women’s club hockey team was the victim of a sweep this weekend. The two wins for the Huskies places them at 11-0 for the season, while the Minutewomen drop to 5-5.
