Wow, I don't know who this Jarred Rose guy is, but he's got some solid ideas. I think SGA has always been a pretty effective body, I mean we got online voting which is pretty cool, but if we can act on these ideas, I think the SGA will really start to do some great things on campus.

If the point of this column is that the sga is poorly run, poorly organized, and not representative of the students on campus then I agree.

Still not sure there was a single idea in this column to solve it though. Saying we need people to care isn't much of a solution. Neither is voting for a president familiar with the SGA- I'm sure that's been done before without success. Having online voting doesn't involve students any longer than the 3 minutes they spend voting. I don't get the obsession with online voting but, while i agree it will at minimum keep turnout the same, you are only kidding yourself if you think ppl will start following the sga just because they voted. There are no examples or evidence to support thinking otherwise.

Jared,

I just wrote over a page, forgot to put the required info, sent it, and lost the whole thing. Grrr.

You bring up a lot of seemingly uncontroversial, thought-provoking issues. There is, of course, an ocean of controversy under the surface, and I look forward to talking to you in person, though my original intent was to post my comments so that others could join in if they felt so inclined.
