The Massachusetts women’s basketball team signed its third recruit of the November early signing period Thursday.

Rashida Timbilla, a 6-foot-1 forward from Nepean, Ontario, is part of the Class of 2015, which includes Emily Mital and Ronni Grandison. The signing came just before the Minutewomen’s weekend matchups against Louisiana State and Seton Hall.

“Rashida is a wonderful 6-foot off-guard,” UMass coach Sharon Dawley said in a video press release on UMass Athletics’ website. “Again, she can play multiple positions for us… She’ll give us a lot of length, a lot of speed and a lot of athleticism.”

Timbilla currently plays for the Kanata Cavs, where she helped the team to a 22-5 record and a No. 5 ranking in the province. The forward also averaged 20.4 points, 14.4 rebounds, 7.8 assists and 3.1 blocks per game last season in 27 minutes.

Timbilla played for the Canadian Junior National Team, which took bronze at the 18U Tournament of Americas.

She is the tallest player the Minutewomen have signed thus far and the only international player to sign a National Letter of Intent. Dawley currently has two Canadian players in Carolann Cloutier and Stephanie Lawrence.
