Last week, Lady Gaga premiered her video for her hit single “Born This Way.” Gaga’s known for creating buzz and did just that with this song after her amazing Grammy performance. “Born This Way,” which debuted at no.1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, is the first single off her upcoming album that is set to release on May 23rd.

Nick Knight, Laurieanne Gibson and Ms.Gaga herself pitched in to direct this 7 minute and 13 second out of this world video. Creatively, this video isn’t anything shy… but what you would expect from Gaga? I’m pretty sure that it comes as no surprise that there were many striking similarities between Gaga and Madonna. It opens up with her telling a story in an old school, sci-fi, twilight zone-ish way. As usual, her video was well-choreographed with scenes that seemed to be inspired by the late, great Michael Jackson.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Gaga video without her showing some skin. As soon as she walks out, you can’t help but notice just how in shape she is. Someone has definitely been hitting the gym. And I must say, her abs look amazing!

Famous blogger Perez Hilton sums it up perfectly by describing the video as having “fashion, fierceness, dancing, provocative imagery and more!”

Now, I am going to completely honest, this song hasn’t quite made the IPod yet. It’s still growing on me. But, the reason I admire Gaga is not just for her outlandish schemes and her weirdness, but also for what she stands for and what she represents. In a society where being “different” is frowned upon, Gaga inspires her “little monsters” to love themselves, no matter who they are or what they do.
