Former Massachusetts third baseman Matt Gedman was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 45th round of MLB’s first-year player draft last Wednesday.

UMass trustees vote to implement 7.5 percent fee increase
Despite staunch opposition from a number of protesters, members of the UMass Board of Trustees Wednesday voted in favor of the fee increase, which goes into effect this upcoming semester.

UMass club baseball advances to NCBA World Series
The Massachusetts club baseball team defeated Pittsburgh, Delaware and Penn State
last weekend to win the North Atlantic Regional Tournament.
