Man arrested at Amherst pub

Last Thursday night, Jamie A. Adames, from Lawrence, was arrested on charges of threatening a bouncer at the English Pub, 15 East Pleasant St., with a 9mm pistol, according to a press release. He was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm while intoxicated and disorderly conduct.

Adames was taken into custody at 11:30 p.m., after employees fought to and gained control of the weapon. According to the press release, no shots were fired and no one was injured.

According to an article in the Daily Hampshire Gazette, Adames had caused a scene in the restaurant earlier that night and was asked to leave.

Amherst Police Detective Lt. Ron Young told the Gazette that Adames is not associated with any local campus, despite being listed online as a University of Massachusetts student.
