Results of local elections

While people were glued to their televisions and computers following the Presidential race between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney, positions were filled in local elections.

Incumbent United States Rep. James McGovern ran unopposed in his race for re-election.

In the race for western Massachusetts Councillor between Democrat Michael Albano and Republican Michael Franco Albano won with 68 percent of the vote.

Stanley Rosenberg was the only candidate for State Senator. State Representative Ellen Story was also an only candidate.

In the race for Register of Deeds between Mary Olberding and George Zimmerman, Olberding won with 57 percent of the vote.

Michael Carey was the only candidate for Hampshire Register of Probate.
