The 82nd Academy Awards will be remembered for its structural changes, funny speeches, great talent of the nominated actors and crew members and even some mild controversies.

Black Student Union members and non-members alike performed a series of sitcom scenes Saturday night as part of a retrospective – “From Good Times to Girlfriends and The Rebirth of the ‘90s” – to commemorate Black History Month. The choice of showcasing prominent black sitcoms by decade reflected our recent entry into the – what are they calling them – the ‘10s?

It’s no coincidence that “Tool Academy 3” debuted on Valentine’s Day. The VH1 show, now in its third year, serves as a what-not–to-do guide for young lovers everywhere. In “Tool Academy,” if someone has a particularly cocky, smooth talking, cheating and/or egotistical partner, they can secretly nominate them to the show, where they participate in a sort of boot camp with their significant other while taking part in therapy sessions and revealing experiences. Looks like it will truly be quality television.

Whether you like his brand of humor or not, there’s no denying that Larry the Cable Guy is one of the hottest comedians around. Daniel Lawrence Whitney, better known as Larry the Cable Guy sells out nearly every venue at which he performs, and his newest special, “Tailgate Party,” is no exception.

One can only succeed as far as their luck can allow him or her to go, but with one action as simple as a click of a mouse, his or her life can change for the better or for the worse in an instant. Mine changed last May. It was the time of year that when big dreams meander into a strange purgatory between inevitability and just another reverie of the season.
