Slideshow: Nor’easter pummels North Shore

A nor'easter hit the North Shore on the night of Feb. 25 into the following morning. The storm pulled trees from the ground, ripped roofs off of houses and businesses, and even started a fire. Many cars were crushed by fallen trees and parts of buildings. Crews are working around the clock to clean up the mess, but a handful of houses are still without electricity.

Amherst sleeps out to protest climate change

Students for a Just and Stable Future took part in a "sleep-out" last Saturday in Amherst Common. Students came from all over the state to sleep on the common overnight in protest of climate change and fossil fuels.

MASSPIRG urges better recycling in the Commonwealth

The UMass chapter of MASSPIRG will hold a kickoff event Feb. 3 on campus, officially launching a project to improve the nearly 30-year-old Bottle Bill for recycling in the state.
