Amherst law enforcement officials are hopeful that a shorter spring schedule this academic year will lead to a reduction in instances of drinking and partying-related incidents.

In the wake of the Haiti earthquake, students at the University of Massachusetts have created an alliance called “UMass Haiti Relief” to raise and provide much needed support.

The roof of Smith College’s campus center will soon be producing its own energy. Solar panels are to be mounted atop the campus center in the upcoming weeks, according to a press release from Smith released Nov. 6.

Norman Kunc wants you to know that he is just like everyone else, only he happens to have cerebral palsy. The humor-laden speech that Kunc delivered Wednesday night at Mount Holyoke College titled, “A Life Beyond Compare: Disability, Normalcy and Transformation,” focused on the need for respect and understanding for disabled people who, he says, are simply an element of human diversity.

Kunc’s speech on recognizing people with disabilities as part of our diverse culture will be held Wednesday, Nov. 4 at 7:30 p.m. in Gamble Auditorium at Mount Holyoke College.

Lynn Pasquerella, the current provost at the University of Hartford was named the 18th president of Mount Holyoke College at a specially convened Board of Trustees meeting on Oct. 31.

Abraham is working with others in the Five College Inc., to create inexpense programs to further student opportunities within the Five Colleges.
