With a three-week break looming before the Minutemen and Minutewomen open up the outdoor seasons, each team competed over the weekend. Both teams had strong showings at pole vault, where Sean Busch tied a UMass indoor record with his height of 15-09.00 feet.

Last season, the UMass track and field team finished ninth and 10th respectively in the NEC’s. Both teams will hope to improve on those finishes after placing fifth and seventh in the A-10 championships last weekend.

Both the Minutemen and Minutewomen had impressive showings over the weekend at the A-10 championships. Daniel Schwartz and Chris Dzidek had 4,000 points in the first ever heptathlon event, while Auquo and Okkonen set school records in the triple jump.

After receiving over a week of rest since last weekend’s Valentine Invitational in Boston, the Massachusetts men’s and women’s track and field teams are ready to compete in the Atlantic 10 Championships. The tournament is a two-day event beginning Friday, Feb. 19 at 9:30 a.m. and continuing through Saturday, Feb. 20 in Kingston, R.I.

After impressive finishes last weekend at the Reebok Boston Indoor Games, the Massachusetts men’s and women’s track and field team will look to keep it going this weekend in New Haven, Conn. in the Giegengack Invitational. The Minutemen will attempt to add to their total number of members qualifying for the New England championship after qualifying seven last week.
