NCAA needs to balance conference, non-conference games

The Massachusetts field hockey will play 12 of its 19 games against non-conference opponents in 2010. Collegian columnist Adam Miller believes that with the NCAA tournament being as small as it is, there should be a heavier emphasis on conference games.

Late surge by Minutemen comes up short

Despite fighting back from a 17-point halftime deficit, the Massachusetts men’s basketball team couldn’t hold on to a lead to close out the game. The Minutemen fell to Atlantic 10 opponent Xavier, 87-79, on Leaman Legacy Night at the Mullins Center, dropping their conference record to 2-6.
