Longtime journalism professor Howard Ziff dies at 81

Howard Ziff, the founder of the University of Massachusetts’ journalism program, died early yesterday at the Fisher Home on North Pleasant Street in Amherst. He was 81.

Congressman gets Frank with UMass students on politics

Despite the presence of some protestors at the University of Massachusetts, Congressman Barney Frank addressed the gathered crowd of 200 on Feb. 16 with many of the highlights from his recently published autobiography, “Barney Frank: The Story of America’s Only Left-Handed, Gay, Jewish Congressman.”
