University of Massachusetts police are investigating an alleged armed robbery in Puffton Village Wednesday evening.

According to an email sent by UMPD, two males dressed in all black allegedly approached an individual that had just exited the bus in the apartment complex north of the UMass campus, revealed a gun and demanded money.

Amherst police are currently patrolling the area and the Amherst Police Detective Bureau is also investigating the report.

UMPD does not believe an imminent risk exists for the UMass community at this time, per the email.

This robbery comes less than two weeks after a perpetrator allegedly robbed a Brandywine apartment with a gun on Nov. 6. That investigation is ongoing, and Amherst police, UMPD and Massachusetts State Police are working together on the investigation.

At the time of the Brandywine robbery, UMass spokesperson Ed Blaguszewski said the University wants to ensure the safety of its students and will stay updated on the status of the investigation.

“It’s our concern because we have a lot of students who live in that apartment complex,” he said.
