Jury selection will continue into Wednesday in the trial of former University of Massachusetts student Patrick Durocher.

Five jurors were selected out of a potential 56 options Tuesday, according to a report from MassLive. There’s a chance that jury selection, which began yesterday, could continue over the course of three more days, per the report.

Durocher, 20, has pleaded not guilty to charges of aggravated rape, kidnapping and assault and battery. He is accused of strangling and raping a 19-year-old UMass student on the ground outside of the Campus Center on Sept. 2, 2013 just days into his freshman year.

He is no longer enrolled as a student in UMass and is currently out on $10,000 bail.

Vincent Bongiorni of Springfield represents Durocher, while Jennifer H. Suhl will prosecute the case for the state. Judge Mary-Lou Rup will preside over the trial at Hampshire Superior Court.
