Due to the anticipated bad weather from Hurricane Matthew this upcoming weekend, the Massachusetts football team and Old Dominion have rescheduled their matchup to Friday night, Oct. 7, at 8 p.m.

Old Dominion athletics issued a press release Wednesday afternoon indicating the game had been moved up from its initial start time of Saturday at 6 p.m.

In addition to the UMass’ (1-4) matchup with the Monarchs (3-2, 2-0 Conference USA), Tulane and Central Florida have also postponed their matchup to Nov. 5. As many as 11 other FBS games happening in southeastern United States could also see scheduling changes due to the expected impact of the hurricane.

Friday’s game will be televised on CUSA TV.
