With a 1-0 record and a new-and-improved national ranking, the No. 4 Massachusetts football team started the 2008 season in winning fashion. Under the lights for the first time, the Massachusetts football team defeated Albany, 28-16, in the season opener.
The Minutemen might not have played exactly how they would have liked – committing penalties, dropping passes and missing tackles, but they earned the result they wanted.
Shaking off the nerves that come with the start of a new season, the Minutemen came together as a team after the first quarter, outscoring Albany 28-7.
However, the Minutemen must focus on the other games if they want to get back on the road to the postseason.
