The 2010 special election to replace the late Senator Edward M. Kennedy is being held on Tuesday, Jan. 19, just as University of Massachusetts students return to classes.
It’s also one the closest races for one of the Bay State’s U.S. Senate seats in recent history – one of the few elections in a historically blue state where every vote can really count. So we’ve compiled information on polling places for UMass students registered to vote in Amherst.
Make sure you follow the rest of our coverage and get familiar with the candidates before you vote.
Amherst has 10 precincts and eight polling places, though most voters whose registered addresses are on campus will vote at the Bangs Community Center or Wildwood Elementary School locations. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on election day, and you can learn more about Amherst voting procedures here.
