The University of Massachusetts Police Department this morning released a photograph of a suspect thought to have stolen a laptop from Webster Residence Hall earlier this week.

From the crime alert:

A neighbor saw a man leaving the victim’s room during that timeframe and described him as a white male, older than traditional college age, medium build, with dark hair and a black leather jacket. The suspicious male knocked on another door and asked the resident for a donation to the Breast Cancer Foundation.

Police are asking help from the community in identifying the man. Anyone with information related to the case should call UMass police at (413) 545-2121 or the UMPD Detective Bureau at (413) 545-0893. Anonymous tips can be submitted to (413) 577-8477 or online at http://www.umass.edu/umpd/anonymouswitness/
