Over winter break, the Amherst Police Department made a major drug bust on North Pleasant Street. On Dec. 30 around 1 a.m., APD officers arrested 26-year-old Jyhong Chea after pulling over the vehicle in which he was a passenger for speeding.
Officers took Chea into custody after discovering he was in possession of a large amount of cocaine packaged for sale. The Amherst resident was held in lieu of $5,000 cash bail at the Hampshire County of House of Corrections in Northampton and was arraigned on New Year’s Eve at Eastern Hampshire District Court in Belchertown.
