Both the Massachusetts men’s and women’ swimming and diving teams lost their meets against Brown on Saturday.

A week after capturing their first victory of the season against Binghamton, the Minutemen were looking to make it two in a row.

The Bears, however, were too much for UMass, which lost the meet 173-125.

Despite the loss, 21 season-best performances were posted on Saturday and a total of eight individuals posted the fastest time in a particular event.

Alessandro Bomprezzi continued his strong season, winning the 1,000-meter freestyle with a personal best this season of 9:30.95. The junior also remained undefeated in the 500-meter freestyle.

Freshman Oliver Wyeth also had a solid performance as he won the 100- and 200-meter backstroke. He set the fastest times in both events in the Atlantic 10 this season.

Connor Lohman, had an impressive performance for Brown on Saturday as he won both the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke.

The Minutewomen suffered a heartbreaker against Brown, falling 151-149.

Molly Smyth turned in a solid performance as she won the 500- and 1,000-yard freestyle events.

Meriza Werenski posted a time of 2:22.28 in the 200-yard breaststroke , good enough to place her first.

She also won the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:06.43.

Aja Grande of Brown beat out Zoe Judd of UMass to take the 100-yard freestyle event.

Both teams return action is Nov. 21 for the Terrier Invitational.
