In an email from the University of Massachusetts crime alerts, the community was informed of an assault which took place on Oct. 26 around Massachusetts Avenue and Sunset Avenue.

At 5:07 p.m., UMPD was notified that an adult male was assaulted by three other males. The report released by UMPD read, “Officers responding to the scene found the victim with significant head injuries from the reported assault.” The victim was immediately transported to the hospital and was not able to “provide information on the suspects.”

The report stated that a number of witnesses have come forward providing physical descriptions of the suspects who were college-aged males. “The main aggressor was described as a white male, wearing a [gray], plaid, flannel long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans and a Carhartt winter cap.” The two other suspects were wearing hooded sweatshirts, but there is less information about them.
