Sex and the City’s Carrie Bradshaw once said, “Balls are to men what purses are to women.”

Though Carrie was a fictional character in a somewhat unrealistic, yet very entertaining, TV show, her statement was and still is pretty accurate. I mean, think about if someone kicked our Chanel bag, we’d scream too right? – even if it was a knock off that you haggled for in Chinatown, NYC.

No, I’m serious though. Our purses are our lives because they do indeed actually carry our lives. In a small way purses symbolize us and our dealings with this cruel and sexy world. Their size is a metaphor for our brains and their quality is a metaphor for our strength. Like girls, purses come in different shapes and sizes. They carry the necessary and the unnecessary baggage. Some times they’re tough like leather and refuse to break, while others are made of pleather fragile and easy to hurt. Some have labels on them, some don’t. They age, they get worn out, they can definitely be clingy. Some purses are exactly the same while others are so unique you can see them a mile away. Some are rich while others are poor.

You can tell a lot about a girl, by what she carries in her bag.

For instance if she carries:

• Wallet: self explanatory
• Make up bag : She most likely always wants to look her best at all times, which should be damn flattering to you guys, so take notice!
• Planner/ notebook: It means she most likely is organized and likes to be on schedule at all times.
• Cell phone: ………Need I say more….
• Ipod: she loves to constantly be around music
• Camera: She’s either a photo whore, or she appreciates the beauty of photography.
• Fake I.D.: She’s willing to party as hard as she can.
• Book: Shows there more to her than just a pretty face.
• Condoms: She’s ready at all times 😉
• Mints/Gum: Enjoys a minty fresh taste and hardly ever has bad breath.
• Magazine: Likes to keep up with Hollywood and fashion.
• News paper: Likes to keep up with reality.
• Flask: Well…she may have a problem…

Of course this list could go on forever……..What do you carry in your Purse?

Even the actual bag itself tells a lot about a girl.

• If it’s designer, it means she’s into good quality, not the cheap stuff.
• If it’s a knock off, she’s into labels, and or just the look of it….Needless to say I’m one of those girls
• 

• If it’s small, she’s into the simple things.
• If it’s big, she may be big headed…
• If it looks like a hippy bag, she could just appreciate it’s beauty and originality……or her piece and bud are in there too =)

So please girls, when you get the chance look at your bag, because in some small ways  it’s like a mirror.
