Dorm Room Recipes: Hot Nutella

Courtesy of Samantha Gillis

People love their Nutella. Seriously, people go crazy over this stuff. And even though eating straight from the jar is good, there are loads of recipes out there that make it even better. One such recipe is Hot Nutella! It’s like hot chocolate but instead of chocolate it’s made with Nutella. It’s super easy, super yummy and it can be yours as long as you have three things: milk, Nutella and the competence to use a microwave. Easy, see?

Here is what you’ll do:

Fill about 3/4th of a mug with milk. Make sure you don’t fill it to the top or it will overflow later.

Heat the milk in the microwave for one minute. Stir, and then put it back in the microwave and heat for another minute. Repeat this until the milk is hot enough.

Add two heaping teaspoons of Nutella to the hot milk and stir until dissolved.
And that’s it! Liquid gold! Or, you know, liquid Nutella, but it’s basically the same thing.

This is really sweet drink as is, perfect for those with a sweet tooth, but might be a bit too much for others. To tone it down try adding only one teaspoon of Nutella.

If you want to add even more deliciousness to the drink (as if Nutella isn’t delicious enough) try swapping the second teaspoon of Nutella for a teaspoon of peanut butter. Want something with a little tangier? A spoonful of jam like strawberry or raspberry would do the trick. Coffee, Bailey’s, actual hot chocolate? All of the above? Maybe not. But the possibilities are endless.

With only two main ingredients this is a really simple recipe and one that is really easy to put your own twist on depending on your tastes.
