Will Fischer, a University of Massachusetts graduate and researcher for the Astronomy department, holds a globe during a demonstration on the Earth’s rotation during the autumn equinox at the UMass Sunwheel on Monday.

“It lets me do something that people have been doing since the beginning of time, and that is to look at the solar system and see our place in it,” said Andy Morris-Friedman, a volunteer at the UMass Sunwheel.
