A closer look at the lives and character of UMass athletes and coaches on and off the field

The 2022 spring sports season marked many new chapters at UMass. Women’s lacrosse returned to the NCAA Tournament for a second consecutive season, softball reintroduced an iconic athlete as its newest head coach, men’s lacrosse put on instant classics in its final season in the Colonial Athletic Association and baseball nearly doubled its win total from 2021 to 2022.
We close the book on the season with the spring sport special issue, a collection of long form stories centered around players and coaches of the spring sports as well as select stories highlighting the season for each sport.
