NORTHAMPTON – “Rap is something we do; hip-hop is something we live,” declared legendary rapper KRS One on Thursday night. With his visit, the hip-hop pioneer reminded the Valley why after 17 years in the game the name KRS has not faded away.
Part-poet, part-philosopher, KRS One took control of Pearl Street at around 10:30 p.m. and did not let up for well over two hours. Greeted by raucous applause and a decent-sized crowd, the rapper seemed to feed off the audience’s energy. His high-charged delivery and unrelenting arsenal of tracks showed ten times over that KRS has the most compelling stage presence in the hip-hop scene today.
The KRS One experience, both entertaining and educational, asked more of its attendees than just the clich
