The St. John’s men’s basketball team received a 26-point effort from Dwight Hardy to knock off No. 3 Duke on Sunday afternoon, 93-78.

Xavier off to best start in school history

Following two wins over the past week, the Xavier women’s basketball team improved its record to 8-0 which is the best start in school history. Their latest two wins came against Southern California and Cincinnati.

Kemba Walker begins season for UConn in stellar fashion

Kemba Walker of the Connecticut men’s basketball team was named MVP of the EA Sports Maui Invitational after averaging 30 points and four assists per game to lead the Huskies to a tournament victory. The sophomore averaged 14.6 points per game and never scored 30 points in a game in his rookie campaign.

No. 1 BC sweeps Denver

After a 2-0 road shutout victory to begin its season and defense of a national championship, the No. 1 Boston College hockey team hit the road to Denver, Colo., this past weekend to take on No. 8 Denver in a two-game series.

Minutewomen look forward to Fordham after rainouts

After having its last three matches rained out, including Wednesday against Connecticut, the Massachusetts tennis team will host Atlantic 10 foe Fordham on Thursday. With a flu bug hitting multiple players on the team, UMass coach Judy Dixon will need to make changes on the fly against the Rams.

Minutemen drop fifth straight to visiting Huskies

After leading by six runs through four innings, UMass could not hold off UConn for the second-straight day, falling 15-11 at Earl Lorden Field. The Minutemen host Richmond this Friday at 3 p.m.

Bullpen to blame in UMass losses

After Issac Oakley gave up six runs in Wednesday afternoon’s game, his bullpen let the contest get out of hand for the second-straight game. Bryan Leigh gave up four runs, while Charlie Benson gave up three.

Cooley Dickinson to expand Amherst branch to include emergency care

The town of Amherst recently announced it will be expanding the urgent care center that the Cooley Dickinson Hospital provides in its main Northampton branch to the Cooley Dickinson outpatient center in Amherst at 170 University Dr.
