Jaime Bourazeris exemplifies new work ethic at UMass

After meeting at the Disney Showcase tournament in Florida, UMass coach Justine Sowry and Jamie Bourazeris connected late in the process. Since then, the mentality of Bourazeris and Sowry have helped transform the Minutewomen into a winning team.

After late start, Bowman contributing to Minutewomen in first year

Lindsay Bowman didn’t pick up a field hockey stick until eighth grade. However, her successes have paid dividends for UMass, as she has become a invaluable tool to their A-10 championship year in 2010.

Minutewomen look to take advantage of second life

After falling to Stanford, 2-1, at home in the NCAA tournament play-in game, the Minutewomen learned that they had earned an at-large bid into the tournament. UMass’ first-round opponent is No. 1 Maryland, a team the Minutewomen played in the regular season and lost 3-0 to on the road.

Top seed not guaranteed for Minutewomen in postseason

Despite holding the best record in Atlantic 10 play, the Massachusetts field hockey team still has work to do. In an extreme scenario, the Minutewomen could still forfeit the top seed if they were to lose both games against West Chester and La Salle, while Lock Haven beats both Saint Joseph’s and Temple at home.

Minutewomen celebrate seniors in final home weekend of season

Atlantic 10 foes Temple and Saint Joseph’s will look to knock the Massachusetts field hockey team off the top of the conference standings this weekend in the final home weekend of the season. The Minutewomen will celebrate Senior Day on Sunday with seniors Katie Kelly, Makaela Potts and Jamie Bourazeris graduating in May.

Minutewomen keeping the mood light down the stretch

Despite being atop the Atlantic 10 with a 3-0 record, the Massachusetts field hockey has been keeping the mood light at practice this week. Conference foes Temple and Saint Joseph’s head to Amherst on Friday and Sunday in attempt to hand UMass its first A-10 loss.
