Minutemen wrap up home schedule over weekend
Coming off a pair of 1-0 wins against Temple and Saint Joseph’s, the Massachusetts men’s soccer team is in second place in the Atlantic 10 with a 4-0-1 record. This weekend, the Minutemen will wrap up their home schedule with matchups against Fordham and La Salle, who have each won five of their last seven games.

DeVivo impressing in freshman season for Minutemen
Freshman Connor DeVivo made a game-wining goal to extend the Massachusetts men’s soccer team’s undefeated streak, earning him the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honor. In the five matches that the Chicopee, Mass. native has played, only one has resulted in a loss.

Minutemen head on road to face conference foes
After opening up Atlantic 10 play with a 2-0-1 record, the Massachusetts men’s soccer team will travel to Philadelphia to take on conference opponents Temple and Saint Joseph’s. The Minutemen currently sit in third place in the A-10, just ahead of the Owls.

Minutemen faring well away from Rudd Field
The Massachusetts men’s soccer team is undefeated on the road this season, with one goal allowed between the three away games at Fairfield, Boston University and Rhode Island. UMass will look to keep its success going against Temple as it plays under the lights this weekend.

UMass plays first A-10 road game against struggling URI
After kicking off Atlantic 10 play by splitting with a victory over Xavier and a draw with Dayton, the Massachusetts men’s soccer team heads on the road to take on Rhode Island in its first away conference match. The Rams (2-7-2, 0-1-1 A-10), meanwhile, sit nowhere near the top of the standings in the A-10 thus far with a single point to their credit.

Minutemen still sputtering in second half
Much of the frustration for the Massachusetts men’s soccer team in the regular season can be attributed to its ineffective play in the second half. Of the 14 goals the Minutemen have relinquished this season, eight have come in the second half and one in double overtime. Shots are also coming easier for opponents in the second half, as UMass has allowed 89 shots in the second half compared to 50 in the first.

Minutemen begin conference play on right foot
The Massachusetts men’s soccer team split its opening Atlantic 10 weekend with a win over Xaiver and a draw against Dayton. Both Morgan Brandso and Ben Arikian scored their first goals of the season.
