UMass police log September 19-22

Tuesday, Sept. 19:

On Tuesday night, there was a police call to the Observatory building which houses WMUA and Nextel’s cell tower. A follow-up investigation revealed a breaking-and-entering incident, as well as vandalism to the premises in the form of cut wires. There are no suspects at this time.

Later that night, UMass police responded to a suspicious call in Webster Hall. An individual in the dorm appeared to be intoxicated and incoherent due to the consumption of Salbia, an over the counter hallucinogen. Emergency services were called and the individual was transferred to Cooley Dickinson Hospital due to breathing difficulties.

Wednesday, Sept. 20:

On Wednesday morning, officers gained entry into a room in the John Quincy Adams Hall where less than a gram of marijuana was confiscated for processing. No arrest was made.

Later that night, Thomas Dacey was arrested and charged with assault and battery in Grayson Hall. Dacey was apprehended after physically assaulting his ex-girlfriend and fleeing the scene. According to police, Dacey shoved and choked his ex-girlfriend before leaving the scene of the fight. Charges are pending.

Thursday, Sept. 21:

On Thursday night, Aldo Combariza was arrested in Dickinson Hall after a warrant for his arrest was found for violating the terms of a restraining order. Combariza was transferred to the Hampshire County house of corrections, and charges were formally filed.

Friday, Sept. 22:

On Friday morning, Thomas Sirois was arrested due to an attempt at solicitation of a college age male on Amity St. Sirois had arranged a time and date to meet such individual and was apprehended by police and charged with sexual conduct for fee after having driven down from Great Barrington, MA.
