I didn’t think Chelsea Handler’s book-based soon-to-be TV Series, “Are You There Vodka? It’s Me Chelsea” could get any better. I was wrong.
TV Line reports Laura Prepon, better known as Donna Pinciotti from “That 70s Show,” has landed the lead role of the twentysomething year-old Chelsea Handler, portrayed as a “fresh-faced single cocktail waitress” who spends her time drinking and having sex.
As someone who has seen every episode of “That 70s Show” about thirty times and owns the first season on DVD, it’s safe to say I’m pretty excited about this news. As Eric Forman’s longtime on-and-off again girlfriend, Prepon’s sharp and witty personality was one I think even Chelsea Handler herself would be proud of.
Since “That 70s Show” wrapped in 2006, the actress has done some guest spots on “How I Met Your Mother” and “Castle.” Her return to the small screen got me thinking- What is the rest of the cast working on?
I like to imagine that they’ve all been chilling in a circle in Eric’s basement.
Topher Grace aka Eric Foreman: remember how much the show sucked after Eric left? Well, he didn’t actually go to Africa, just Hollywood. He made out with Anne Hathaway in “Valentine’s Day” and his new movie “Take Me Home Tonight” opens March 4th.
Mila Kunis aka Jackie Burhardt: Two words: “Black Swan.” Since the show, the actress has mostly been known as the voice of Meg on “Family Guy,” until now that is. This year, Kunis received praise from critics and guys everywhere for her role in the Oscar nominated movie “Black Swan.” I’m especially excited for her new role in the movie “Friends With Benefits” starring opposite Justin Timberlake. The movie opens July 22nd.
Ashton Kutcher aka Micheal Kelso: It’s really hard to believe Kelso didn’t die during the series, considering the fact that he almost blew himself up every week. He did, however, stick with a hot brunette and marry Demi Moore. The king of romantic comedies will be reprising his role from the movie “Valentines Day” in the sequel “New Year’s Eve.” The movie has no release date yet and is jam packed with stars, including “Glee” star Lea Michele!
Wilmer Valderrama aka Fez: did we ever find out what country Fez was from? By far one of my favorites in the gang, Wilmer’s accent always made me weak, despite Fez’s constant creepiness. Wilmer’s voice is most recognizable as “Handy Mandy” on The Disney Channel. The actor will star in the upcoming movie “Larry Crowne” with Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts. “Crowne” will be released July 1st.
Danny Masterson aka Steven Hyde: Of everyone, Danny has definitely been the most absent from the limelight. If we were talking about Hyde I’d probably guess he’d been in jail. Masterson is not in jail but has been rumored to be in production of the new movie “Chronicle” with Ryan Phillipee.
