I have always been a baker, but living on campus has made that quite difficult. It is even worse to go from having mostly home-cooked food, to microwave meals. So, I took it upon myself to come up with a way to get creative and find some recipes I can still make despite living on campus. I have stumbled across quite the recipe, so readers you’re in luck. This is for those who have a big sweet tooth just like me. I’ll definitely be making these Nutella Mug Cakes even after I move off-campus. Get your aprons ready and let’s bake!
Ingredients
3 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
3 Tablespoons of white granulated sugar
1 Egg
3 Tablespoons chocolate chips
3 Tablespoons nutella
3 Tablespoons butter
Optional: Ice cream or whipped cream for topping
Directions
Simple! Mix all ingredients with a fork.
Pour in a mug (try to use a larger mug if possible, the cake will puff up in the microwave but it will shrink back down as soon as you take it out).
Microwave for 1 ½ – 3 minutes.
For all you Parks and Recreation fans: Yes, that is a Ron Swanson mug.
My microwave took about 2 minutes, but different microwaves will vary. Also, the chocolate chips stay in a melted state in the cake so if you stick a fork in it to check if it is done, the chocolate chips will turn up on it. I suggest just checking if the cake is spongy instead. Then just top with anything you want! I used whipped cream.
That’s it! It’s simple and absolutely delicious. My roommates loved it and want to make it again already!
