With seven incoming freshmen, the Massachusetts men’s basketball team has a lot of unknowns this season, and in an attempt to provide some context, we’ll be rolling out a seven-part video series — Freshman Film Room — leading up to basketball season.
Each week we’ll put out a new film breakdown on each of the seven freshmen, looking at some strengths, weaknesses and how they could fit into the team.
This week, we’re starting with Sean East, a point guard with raw potential and tools that could be one of UMass’ primary ballhandlers this season. Enjoy.

Before going to Prep last season he played for NEW Albany High school in IN won a state championship while there and scored over 1000 points. Whats a shame he was over looked because his team mate was Romeo Langford who was a lottery draft pick in this years NBA draft(Celtics) and is 4th all time in points in the state of IN and of Romeo’s over 3400 its Sean east got an assist they where called Batman(Romeo) and Robin (Sean). He was fun to watch everyone said he was too small to play D1 after his senior year at New Albany that is why he went to the prep school. While Batman went to play one season at Indiana University. Sean is a very smart player and he will do good things for UMass. And to my knowledge he never got into trouble while playing at New Albany. Also all I ever heard around town was good things about him. New Albany is a town of under 40 thousand you hear about things when one of your star players in sports.
