The Massachusetts men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams went to West Point to take on Army. While the men’s side fell hard, the women fought to the finish for a thrilling 151-149 win.

For a team that usually has its way over the competition, the Massachusetts swimming and diving teams took a step back this weekend against Boston University. However, freshman Derek Hursch was one of the few bright spots, winning three events in his first-ever collegiate meet.

Both the UMass swimming and diving teams had impressive showings at the A-10 championships. Russ Yarworth was named Coach of the Year, while coach Mandy Hixon won her second-straight Diving Coach of the Year award.
