Even in the world of hockey, superheroes reign supreme.
The Massachusetts hockey team was sluggish out of the gates in its first and only exhibition game of the 2001-02 season, and visiting St. Francis Xavier (Nova Scotia, Canada) used four first period goals to propel it to a 5-3 victory Saturday night.
Guy Loranger scored a hat trick off of Patrick Grandmaitre to lead the X-Men, who tallied three goals on the man advantage in the contest.
