LOWELL, Mass. – “Disappointed. I’m really disappointed.”
No words could better sum up the weekend than those of Massachusetts hockey coach Don Cahoon on Saturday night. The Minutemen (4-6-0, 2-3-0 Hockey East) went 0-2 in a pair of games against conference rival UMass-Lowell despite outplaying their counterparts in both games.
Saturday night, the Maroon and White fell 3-2 to the No. 10 River Hawks (7-2-0, 5-2-0 HE) at the Mullins Center, despite outshooting its rival by a 24-15 margin. Lowell posted three goals in the first 12:49 of the game.
