“Who the Hell is John Eddie?” That’s a good question, but it’s the title of the latest album from John Eddie. A musician who counts Bruce Springsteen as a fan, Eddie has been on the edge of fame for a long time, but he seems to have nailed his sound with this album. This Saturday he’ll be performing at the Iron Horse Music Hall in Northampton and showing off his distinct, Memphis-influenced sound.
The album has two separate stories each told with a country/rock twang. One is about raw romances and the other is a humorous account of the struggle Eddie has faced over his 20-plus years in the music business. The first has a poignancy that resonates with the listener that the second doesn’t.
