Rebecca Babin not only looks stylish as she walks through campus or goes out on the weekends, she also stays trendy as she types away at her computer in her photojournalism class at the W.E.B Du Bois Library. Her preppy style is shown through her layered white polo and maroon cashmere sweater, giving her a crisp appearance. She makes it a casual, yet classic look by wearing jeans and white converse sneakers with a red and blue stripe circling the shoe. Her red polka-dot headband incorporates the colors layered in her polo and sweater. Silver bracelets add a classic and cute look to any outfit and enhance the preppy style.

Babin finds her inspiration in “the all-American style.” She tries to be trendy on the weekends, but when she goes to class she likes the dress preppy. After working at J. Crew, Babin said, “I probably have 50 sweaters from J. Crew, I just like to layer a lot.” She can always be seen wearing at least one item from the popular store. Babin said one benefit of wearing cashmere is its soft, plush feeling. Other stores Babin can be seen shopping at are Banana Republic, Abercrombie & Fitch and Forever 21. Babin’s style is perfect for the busy lifestyle of a college student. She said she can wear her outfit to class with her Converse sneakers and simply switch into a cute pair of heals to go out at night.

This preppy style is a perfect way to mix-and-match clothing in your closet. Most students just want to roll out of bed and throw on their sweatshirts or North Face jackets, but instead you can put on a cashmere sweater and feel the same comfort. The preppy style always creates a clean, crisp appearance and shows that you take care of yourself and your clothing.

Banana Republic and J. Crew’s styles often take a toll on your wallet, but you can find less expensive, preppy clothes at Forever 21. With a smaller amount on the price tag, you can buy a bundle of sweaters and polos to layer for a new outfit each day.

You can also vary your preppy look by picking brightly colored polos and different shades of Converse sneakers with colored shoe laces. The brighter colors will make your outfit look fun and energetic. Whether you are already preppy or want to switch up your style, you can add your own personality to this look and have all eyes on you.

How is buying a bunch of sweaters and interchanging them everyday considered crafty fashion? It’s just laziness.

And Converse is owned by Nike, which has exploited child labor, so Converse shoes should be condemned, imho.
