The Amherst Police Department’s Detective Bureau has opened an investigation into an incident which involved an order for $3,900 worth of pizza from Antonio’s Pizza.
An order was placed late Friday night by phone call to the downtown pizza shop, but was never picked up.
At 6:20 a.m. the Amherst PD received a phone call from management at Antonio’s notifying them of the incident.
The order was placed by someone attending the Bob Dylan concert at the University of Massachusetts’ Mullins Center last Friday.
Of the incident, Amherst Police Department Detective David Foster said that “the investigation is open and has gone nowhere as of yet.”
According to the Daily Hampshire Gazette, police are attempting to trace the phone number which placed the pizza order.
Antonio’s Pizza management was not able to be reached by phone before deadline.

Well, I guess it would be helpful if someone could get their story straight… according to the article below (see link), the order was NOT phoned in, the person “CAME” in and placed the order. Real poor reporting to say the least…

Is this serious? So did Antonio’s make all the pizza and then cry foul when it wasn’t picked up? The blame is also on you Antonio’s or the manager who was on duty at that time. How could you not ask for payment before hand? Or at least partial payment on a credit card, and keep that number in case the order isnt picked up

I can see why antonio’s would even try to fill the order. Dylan concert, huge pizza order…They must have figured it was someone working for Bob calling to feed the crowd or something.
