Suspicious
9:28 a.m.: A reporting party wanted an officer to check out a silver box with the words “It is God’s World” written on it in front of Subway at 4 Main St. The box was empty and the reporting party disposed of it.
3:39 p.m.: Two black males came to the reporting party’s door at Colonial Village Apt. 167 on 81 Belchertown Rd. stating they were with Eversource. Both men had a folder and a green lanyard. The reporting party stated the men asked for her rebate bill and asked to go in her apartment. The reporting party called Eversource and they said there should not be anyone out from the company. The men were gone on arrival.
11:19 p.m.: A reporting party stated an older white male wearing a white shirt, navy windbreaker and dark pants had been pacing around the parking lot at 22 Lessey St. looking into vehicles for about 20 minutes. The officers found the listed party was a security guard. It was his first day on the job and he was outside smoking a cigar, walking around the parking lot.
11:53 p.m.: A reporting party called in four white males riding down Fearing Street in a wheelbarrow before going into the garage of a house at the corner of the street and coming out with a scooter. The reporting party stated she didn’t believe the men lived in the house where they took the scooter from. The men continued down Fearing Street toward North Pleasant Street in the wheelbarrow.

10:08 a.m.: An officer addressed a dog issue on 27 Country Corners Rd.
Disturbance
10:30 a.m.: A reporting party from CVS on 165 University Drive advised of a “rough-looking” white male with short curly hair, bad teeth and gray sweats causing a scene. He was asked to move from in front of the store by a manager because he was laying on the ground. The man became verbally aggressive and moved inside the store and started swearing at employees. The man was gone on arrival.
Disabled Motor Vehicle
12:32 p.m.: Services were rendered for a black 2008 Nissan Altima on 299 Amity St.
8:23 p.m.: Officers spoke with the operator of a gray 2014 Toyota Corolla at 405 Amity St. and said he was pulled over in order to put directions into his GPS. The officer advised the operator to pick another spot to use his GPS instead of a busy street.
Motor Vehicle Crash
12:46 p.m.: The Amherst College Police Department advised of a minor motor vehicle accident at 81 Spring St. The operator of a silver Chevrolet Silverado drove around a gray 2014 Subaru Impreza on narrow street. The rear tire of the Silverado rubbed the driver’s side front bumper of the Subaru and scuffed the bumper. No injuries were reported.
4:21 p.m.: A reporting party called in a motor vehicle crash involving a black 2012 Ford. Officers assisted with traffic as needed.
5:34 p.m.: A reporting party called in a motor vehicle crash on 41 Northampton Rd. between a gray 2019 Toyota Corolla and a black 2015 Acura. The Toyota was on Woodside Ave and stopped at the stop sign facing north waiting for a break in traffic to pull onto Northampton Rd. The Acura attempted to pull onto Woodside Ave from Northampton Rd, making a wide turn and crashing into the Toyota. The Toyota sustained damage to the driver’s side rear door and quarter panel and the Acura sustained damage to the driver’s side front bumper. The operator of the Acura was issued a citation.
10:54 p.m.: The operator of a gray 2004 Chevrolet struck a black 2018 Toyota Camry while pulling out of a parking spot. The Camry was parked and the registered operator was unable to be found. Officers left a note and a contact exchange form and advised the registered operator to contact APD.
Assist Amherst Fire Department
1:39 p.m.: A gray 2013 Saturn VUE caught fire after receiving services at Jiffy Lube on 720 Riverglade Drive The fire was extinguished and the operator was advised not to drive the vehicle. There were no injuries and no external property damage.
Assist Citizen
3:17 p.m.: The owner of Hampshire Gymnastics on 461 West St. was contacted by an officer after reaching out to the police department with questions regarding a review of emergency procedures at her facility. A voice message was left because the officer was unable to make contact with said business owner.
Motor Vehicle Stop
9:16 p.m.: A verbal warning was issued to the operator of a gray 2005 Nissa Altima at 161 North Pleasant St. after the vehicle stopped for a left turn where it was prohibited.
9:22 p.m.: A verbal warning was issued to the operator of a Hyundai Sonata at 1040 North Pleasant St. for failing to yield for traffic.
9:31 p.m.: The operator of a red 1999 Dodge Durango was issued a verbal warning for a red light violation on 825 Main St.
10:07 p.m.: A red 2001 Jeep Wrangler’s operator was issued a verbal warning for driving over 50 miles per hour through the intersection on Northampton Road and University Drive.
10:41 p.m.: The operator of a black 2009 Nissan Rogue made a left turn from Dickinson on to Main Street while having a red light. The operator advised she was lost and not paying attention. A verbal warning was issued to her.
Liquor Law Violation
10:42 p.m.: A warning was issued for a minor in possession of a small bottle of alcohol at 406 North Pleasant St. The liquor was dumped at the scene.

Noise Complaint
12:00 a.m.: A loud party at the intersection of 34 Fairview Way was called in. The residents were cooperative and ended the party. The town bylaws were explained and a warning was issued.
12:04 a.m.: A reporting party at 43 Prospect St. reported a loud party at the house at the listed intersection. The residents were cooperative and agreed to end the party. The town bylaw for unlawful noise was explained and a warning was issued.
12:24 a.m.: A reporting party called in a loud gathering at 621 East Pleasant St. The gathering was a registered party through the “Party Smart” program, but was entered incorrectly by UMass personnel, so no warning phone call had been given. Residents were cooperative in getting people to leave the party.
1:22 a.m.: A reporting party at 711 Main St. called in a loud gathering at the house to the left of her. The party was registered with APD. Police services were rendered at the party.
2:30 a.m.: A reporting party at 175 Summer St. Apt. 16 called in a loud party coming from the apartment next to her. The noise was gone upon police arrival.
2:45 a.m.: A reporting party at 10 Carriage Lane called in loud voices and music. The noise was gone upon police arrival.
3:21 a.m.: A reporting party called in loud voices coming from one of the homes on Tyler Place. Loud music was heard coming from 16 Tyler Place. The reporting party was advised residents at the house were given a warning.
11:33 a.m.: A reporting party called in complaining about extremely loud music in the vicinity of 327 Lincoln Ave. A small and registered party was at the address pregaming before the UMass football game. Residents were cooperative and shut the music off as they were leaving for the game. A warning was issued.
12:23 p.m.: A reporting party complained about a loud noise and swearing coming from 702 Main St. A handful of students were found on the back porch of 702 Main St. pregaming the UMass football game. Residents were advised of the complaint and no violations were found.
8:40 p.m.: A reporting party advised police of loud talking behind her residence at 24 McClellan St. Officer services were rendered at the address.
9:34 p.m.: A reporting party called in loud music and voices coming from 57 North Prospect St. Unreasonably loud music and voices were observed coming from the address. Three residents were home with around five to seven guests, including two sets of parents. Residents were identified and informed officers that they had registered their party with UMass, though the information never made it to APD dispatch. A warning was issued and the town bylaws were explained to the residents.
10:25 p.m.: A reporting party called in loud voices and music from 94 North Prospect St., Apt. 1. A warning was issued.
10:59 p.m.: A reporting party called in loud music coming from 22 Lessey St. Apt. 101. The noise was gone upon police arrival.
Motor Vehicle Complaint
12:54 a.m.: A reporting party noticed an operator wobbling as he entered his vehicle at 486 North Pleasant St. The reporting party said that the vehicle was heading south on East Pleasant St. towards the center of Amherst. An officer performed a motor vehicle stop where the officer administered a standardized field sobriety test. A 22-year-old from Chicopee, Mass. admitted to have been drinking alcohol and was placed under arrest for OUI liquor, operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation.
5:36 a.m.: A reporting party at 10 Montague Rd. advised police of a silver Volkswagen swerving on Route 63 headed north. An area search was performed and the driver was gone on arrival.
Disturbance
1:12 a.m.: A reporting party reported that a white male in his 20’s with a pot belly, Lion King shirt, a grey backwards hat and jeans was refusing to leave The Spoke at 35 East Pleasant St. after being asked to multiple times. The person advised police that he was waiting for his girlfriend when he was told to leave. The person called an Uber and left upon officer request.
Fight
1:23 a.m. Police were advised of a fight in front of Antonio’s Pizza at 31 North Pleasant St. Upon arrival, police spoke to a man who indicated that he was punched, unprovoked, by another male party who was dragged away by three friends. The man who was punched declined medical attention. An area search was conducted with negative results.
5:56 p.m.: A reporting party reported a fight with approximately four people involved at 163 Lincoln Ave. Apt. 1. As the police officer arrived to the location, they observed two males and one female walking east on Amity St. away from Lincoln Ave. One of the males had a bloody nose. The listed party informed the officer that two unknown males had approached them and began to assault them. An area search was conducted but no one was found.
Traffic
5:41 a.m.: Two cars were parked illegally in the Spring St. Lot at 1 Spring St. One car was moved as the operator was asleep in the back seat. The other car was towed by Ernie’s Towing.
8:07 p.m.: A reporting party advised police of a car parked in his parking spot at 51 Boltwood Walk. A citation was issued.
10:51 p.m.: The west, tow-zone side of South Whitney St. was lined with illegal parkers. All vehicles were ticketed. It turned out that the residents of 20 South Whitney St. were having a party and their guests moved their vehicles, with the exception of one black 2009 Toyota Corolla, which was towed by Ernie’s Towing.
Motor Vehicle Stop
6:57 a.m.: A motor vehicle was stopped at 70 South East St. for a red light violation. A warning was issued to the driver.
9:50 p.m.: A red 2014 Nissan Altima was stopped for operating at 50 miles per hour in a posted 40 mile per hour zone at 300 South Pleasant St. An officer noticed that the vehicle had struck the curb. Field sobriety tests were conducted and the operator was determined not to be impaired. A warning was issued and the driver was sent on their way.
11:27 p.m.: A grey 2006 Lexus GX470 was stopped at 1039 North Pleasant St. for no headlights. A warning was issued.
Traffic Enforcement
9:21 a.m.: A speed/crosswalk traffic complaint was received to officers through Coplogic, an online system for reporting incidents, at 226 Pine St for traffic enforcement. Police services were rendered.
9:53 a.m.: Traffic enforcement was put in place at 60 Potwine Lane No violations were observed.
Assist Other Police Department
10:08 a.m.: Amherst Police Department was dispatched to 250 Stadium Drive to assist the University of Massachusetts Police Department.
Motor Vehicle Crash
2:24 p.m.: A Toyota was following a Jeep too close near Stackers on 57 North Pleasant St. The Toyota was towed by Ernie’s at the operator’s request.
5:31 p.m.: A red Chevrolet HHR backed into a police motorcycle in front of 25 Kellogg Ave as the operator of the Chevy was attempting to make room for a vehicle in front of them trying to get into a parking space. The officer on the motorcycle was pushed back five to 10 feet as the motorcycle fell to the ground and they jumped off. The motorcycle sustained damage to the front fender and the Chevy sustained damage to the passenger side rear bumper.
7:50 p.m.: A reporting party reported a small sedan struck four parked vehicles at the Emily Dickinson Homestead at 280 Main St. All four vehicles sustained a broken driver’s side mirror. An area search was conducted with nothing found. There was no evidence of the offending vehicle left at the scene.

3:50 p.m.: An involved party was stopped at 61 Fearing Street for a liquor law violation. All alcohol was poured out on scene.
3:52 p.m.: A person was carrying an open can of beer while on the sidewalk near 200 Sunset Ave. Two cans were dumped on a warning was issued.
4:07 p.m.: An involved party was stopped at 61 Fearing Street for a liquor law violation. All alcohol was poured out on scene.

4:39 p.m.: An involved party was seen drinking from an open Bud Light can at 200 Sunset Ave. A warning was issued.
4:42 p.m.: An 18-year-old from Massapequa, New York and a 19-year-old from Stoughton, Mass. were each issued a summons for possession of alcohol under the age of 21 at 28 Nutting Ave.
10:31 p.m.: An involved party was observed walking on Phillips St. with an open container. A summons was issued for a 19-year-old from Lee, New Hampshire for an open container of alcohol.
10:41 p.m.: An involved party was observed walking on the sidewalk along Nutting Ave. while carrying an open Bud Light beer. The involved party was also determined to be under the age of 21. The 20-year-old man from Pittsfield, MA was placed under arrest for open container of alcohol and possession of alcohol under the age of 21.
Citizen Transport
3:52 p.m.: An intoxicated person was transported to Pi Kappa Alpha at 374 North Pleasant St. where he was left with a sober and responsible party.

3:53 p.m.: Police services were rendered at a parade at the UMass Haigis Mall at 151 Presidents Drive
11:03 p.m.: A reporting party had a woman’s car towed at 1040 North Pleasant St. Apt. 58 and the woman whose car was towed claimed that her car had the proper parking pass. Ernie’s Towing did confirm that the car was accidentally towed with the proper pass and that they were making arrangements to have the car released to the woman.
Disturbance
5:19 p.m.: An involved party was in the middle of the roadway near 75 East Pleasant St. with a skateboard refusing to leave. The person was uncooperative at first but eventually moved out of the way.
Suspicious
6:08 p.m.: A reporting party advised police of a college-aged white male with a red jersey who attempted to force his way into her vehicle at 173 Strong St. The reporting party locked the doors and the male fled eastbound on Strong St. on foot. An area search was conducted and nothing was found.
6:11 p.m.: A reporting party advised police that they had heard gunshots in the vicinity of 15 Farmington Rd. The reporting party noted that they did not believe the on and off gunshots were coming from the direction of the gun range, nor did it sound like fireworks. While on the phone with the reporting party, a police officer also heard the gunshots. Police services were rendered at the address.

6:53 p.m.: Amherst Police Department assisted the Amherst Fire Department with a request for assistance with gaining entry into a residence at 34 Spring St. Apt 1. Officer services were rendered at the location.

8:13 p.m.: Police were advised of two dogs in a black 2012 Honda Pilot with the windows up at A.J. Hastings at 45 South Pleasant St. Officer services were rendered at the address.

Disturbance 12:00 a.m.: A 31-year-old male was placed into police custody for disorderly conduct after being observed urinating by the entrance of Amherst Books, 8 Main St.
Noise Complaint
12:21 a.m.: Loud voices were heard coming from the parking lot near 62 Summer St.
2:07 a.m.: Loud voices were coming from outside and inside a residence at 28 Carriage Lane The party was registered at the location, but a warning phone call went unanswered. A citation was issued to a resident for unlawful noise.
2:52 a.m.: A noise complaint was called in for loud music being played about Apt. 100 at Presidential Apartments, 950 North Pleasant St. The noise was gone upon police arrival. An officer spoke to a resident outside the listed apartment who stated he had not heard any loud noise.
4:48 p.m.: A reporting party called in yelling, screaming and drinking at 401 Main St. Officers responded and encountered the involved parties hanging out in the back parking lot. They were cooperative and moved along.
Motor Vehicle Stop
12:28 a.m.: The operator of a motor vehicle was stopped and given a verbal warning for driving without headlights at 43 Amity St.
12:50 a.m.: A gray 2009 Chevy Malibu was stopped at 30 Amity St. and the operator was given a verbal warning.
1:14 a.m.: A gray 2018 Nissan Versa was stopped for operating with parking lights and for having more passengers than seat belts in the vehicle. The operator was found to have an expired license as of Sept. 12, 2018. A criminal application was issued to the operator for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
1:16 a.m.: A blue Nissan Sentra was stopped at 258 Triangle St. The operator was issued a verbal warning for failing to yield.
1:36 a.m.: The operator of a blue 2005 GMC Sierra was issued a verbal warning at 211 Lincoln Ave.
Liquor Law Violation
12:37 a.m.: An involved party was seen at 200 Sunset Ave. with an open beer can. The person was cooperative and over the age of 21. An officer issued the individual a warning and sent them on their way.
1:21 a.m.: A summons report is to be completed for a 21-year-old on a charge of having an open container of alcohol at 364 North Pleasant St.
Suspicious
1:16 a.m.: Several people were observed on the roof of Formosa Chinese Restaurant, 62 Main St. Upon checking the building, the west entrance was found to be unsecured, but no one was located inside. A keyholder responded and did a walk-through with police officers. The keyholder advised the apartment above the restaurant has access to the roof from a window and the people on the roof were most likely the residents of the apartment.
3:10 a.m.: A reporting party stated some people were possibly throwing rocks in the area of 57 East Pleasant St., Apt. 404. No signs of people throwing rocks were found when police did a check of the area.
1:53 p.m.: A reporting party who owns a location at 150 Sunderland Rd. reported that the manager from The Harp, 163 Sunderland Rd. thinks someone is “squatting” in the house and he saw them that day.
10:21 p.m.: A woman stated she could hear a man screaming for the past five to 10 minutes at 24 Pine St. She was unable to determine what was being said and stated it sounded incoherent. Officers checked the area, but no one was there.
10:38 p.m.: A reporting party called in a male party who approached their house at 173 Pelham Rd. stating he had Cerebral Palsy and his car had a flat tire. A vehicle could not be seen in the area and the male party was waiting outside the house. The stepfather of the male arrived and the vehicle was parked in the farm share until the next morning when they could get the tire fixed.
Motor Vehicle Crash
1:48 a.m.: A black 2008 Hyundai Elantra and a gray 2003 Pontiac Grand were in a motor vehicle crash at 190 University Drive when an Uber driver attempted to turn to pick up passengers and caused the incident. No injuries were reported; damage was over $1,000.
Traffic
1:38 p.m.: A reporting party stated a vehicle is parked in his spot at 51 Boltwood Walk. He stated that he was advised to call every day and the vehicle would be ticketed repeatedly until Monday when the vehicle would be towed. Parking tickets were issued and parking officers are to handle towing.
3:02 p.m.: A reporting party called in a tree and wires across the road at 1720 South East St. Eversource and DPW were en route. Eversource estimated the issue would be resolved in 40 minutes.
11:56 p.m.: An online request was submitted for traffic enforcement of a stop sign at Wildflower Drive and Larkspur Drive
Motor Vehicle Complaint
5:28 p.m.: A white 2012 Toyota Prius was called in and the reporting party stated the operator was all over the road crossing marked lanes at 113 Cowls Rd. The vehicle was gone upon police arrival.
Animal Complaint
6:19 p.m.: A reporting party stated an injured dog was found by a pond and moved to 82 Pondview Drive A second reporting party called about the animal, stating the dog was a white and brown King Charles spaniel with a 2012 Pelham dog tag.
Trespass
7:34 p.m.: A reporting party wanted an officer to speak with staff at Amherst Market, 259 Triangle St. about an involved party who had recently trespassed and was just in the store. The involved party has not yet been served a trespass order.
8:01 p.m.: A reporting party stated that an involved party is in his RV in the area by the bridge at 165 Summer St., Apt. 33.
