The best and worst-dressed of the 2012 Oscars

With all the elegance and sheer glamor of the affair, it becomes hard to choose best dressed for Academy Awards. The top five celebs that dressed to completely enthrall viewers were Emma Stone, Jennifer Lopez, Michelle Williams, Viola Davis and Angelina Jolie. They were all chosen for the uniqueness, splashes of color, and elegance of the dress.

Angelina Jolie, of course, left us all applauding her simple chic Versace number with sexy slit. The elegant bombshell worked the red carpet like a runway by revealing one sumptuous leg for viewers back home to salivate over. The only competition for her gorgeous figure was the dress itself.

Viola Davis’s green Vera Wang was stellar with its jewel encrusted neckline. At first I thought the color was a bit Kermit the frog, but I grew to love the dress, just like the stars red locks.

Pixie haired Michelle Williams decided to give her take on colors that pop. It was a slam dunk, and to hell with the critics that hated her dress! Other than the cheap looking clutch she wore, the dress was youthful and the orange color was perfect against her skin. Yes, we could have done without the little silver bow, but overall the dress was a success and added a little fun to such a serious event.

Jennifer Lopez of course embodied sexy class in a Zuhair Murad gown with a plunging neckline. Even with her small wardrobe malfunction she still worked it like a glittery goddess. Last but not least, best dressed of the night had to be Emma Stone. I absolutely love the bow and rouge Giambattista Valli Couture gown. This dress screamed high fashion, and it was the most visually appealing of the night. Stone proved she can be the funny girl, take on more serious roles, and now she cand add to the list glamor girl.

Those that fell flat were: Busy Phillips, Shailene Woodley and  Kelly Osbourne. Oh my, it seems that everything went wrong when Busy Phillips chose the Dolce & Gabana gown  with pink, green and blue earrings. Were those pink shoes I saw? Someone get this girl a stylist! The dress was blah and the Cougar Town star should have chose those accessories for a spring break trip to Cabo, instead of the red carpet.

The young vibrant Shailey Woodley was helplessly aged 20 years by her Valention couture gown. I would have liked to see something more vibrant , youthful, soft and pretty.

Kelly Osbourne, that coif was the color of chewed grape bubblegum, and it completely upset the look. With hair that distracting, any pretty dress can look unfavorable. Feel free to disagree but those were the best and worst of the Academy Awards.
