The University of Massachusetts Police Department is investigating thefts from the Sycamore Residential Hall which occurred on May 31 and June 1, according to a crime alert sent to the UMass student body today.
The email said that victims of the thefts reported their unlocked and unoccupied rooms were entered, although the email did not provide any information about possible suspects.
“As of this time, two rooms have been illegally entered and five individuals are reporting cash has been stolen,” according to the email.
The crime alert also encouraged students with information about the thefts to either contact UMPD Officer Michael Billiel or to leave an anonymous tip through the UMPD’s website.
